CAMELLIA SCHOOL ADMISSION REGULATIONS — SCHOOL YEAR 2026–2027

ADMISSION POLICY

1. Regulations for new students

This admission policy applies to all students who wish to apply to campuses within the Camellia School system.

2. Regulations for current Camellia School students

  • Students who meet grade-promotion requirements may continue at the next grade level.
  • Grade-level transitions (Grade 5 to 6, Grade 9 to 10) follow the school’s internal transition procedures.
  • Transfers between campuses within the system are considered based on enrollment capacity, English proficiency, and conditions at the receiving campus.
  • Program changes (e.g. high-quality track to international bilingual) require meeting entry criteria and the school’s assessment process.

3. Non-discrimination principle

Camellia School does not discriminate in admission on the basis of race, nationality, gender, age, religion, or political beliefs.

ADMISSION AGE

For the 2026–2027 school year, Camellia School admits students at ages corresponding to each level as follows:

  • Primary: students born 2016–2020.
  • Middle school: students born 2012–2015.
  • High school: students born 2009–2011.

Students outside the typical age range for a grade may be considered for admission in accordance with regulations for primary schools, lower-secondary schools, upper-secondary schools, and multi-level schools.

CLASS SIZE

Camellia School sets the following maximum class sizes for primary, middle, and high school:

  • High-quality program: 32 students/class
  • International bilingual program: 24–26 students/class

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. New applicants to Camellia School

  • Students must not have communicable diseases or dangerous congenital conditions.
  • Primary applicants (Grade 2 and above) must have completed the prior school year/semester per MOET regulations.
  • Middle school applicants must have completed primary education/the prior school year or semester per MOET regulations.
  • High school applicants must have completed lower secondary education/the prior school year or semester per MOET regulations.
  • Foreign students residing in Vietnam and Vietnamese students living abroad are considered case by case per local Department of Education & Training regulations.

2. Students who left Camellia School and wish to re-enroll

  • The school reviews each application individually.

ADMISSION PROCESS

1. Process for new students

  • Step 1. Parents learn about Camellia School
  • Step 2. Register by completing admission fees
  • Step 3. Student takes entrance assessment per school policy
  • Step 4. Parents complete enrollment documents and financial obligations
  • Step 5. Official enrollment

2. Process for grade-level transitions

  • Step 1. Parents register intent for the child to continue at Camellia School
  • Step 2. School assesses the student per transition procedures
  • Step 3. Parents complete enrollment if the student qualifies for the next level
  • Step 4. Official enrollment

ENTRANCE ASSESSMENT

All new students must pass the school’s entrance assessment. Each student may attempt the assessment twice; the second attempt must be at least one month after the first.

Students take tests in the following subjects by program:

1. High-quality program

  • Grade 1: General ability/direct interview; English;
  • Primary, middle & high school: General ability/direct interview: Math, Vietnamese Language & Literature, English;

2. International bilingual program

  • Middle school: General ability/direct interview, Math in Vietnamese (Vietnamese students)/Math in English (international students), Vietnamese Language & Literature, English;
  • High school (Grade 9 cohort): General ability/direct interview, Math in English, Vietnamese Language & Literature, English;
  • Primary, middle & high school: General ability/direct interview, Math in English, English;

Admission to entry grades of each level follows Department of Education & Training regulations.

ADMISSION TIMELINE

  • Start-of-year admission: January through August each year; classes begin in August.
  • Second-semester admission: November through December each year; classes begin in January.
  • Mid-year applicants are considered based on school capacity and Department of Education & Training regulations.
